Assessment and Evaluation: We start by conducting an assessment of the student's needs and reviewing their current IEP (if one exists). Assess the student's strengths, weaknesses, and any areas of concern.
Education Planning: Based on our assessment, we will work with the student and their family to develop a comprehensive education plan that outlines the goals and services needed to support the student's learning and development.
IEP Development and Review: Assist in the creation or revision of the student's IEP. We will ensure that the plan is tailored to your student's unique needs, is legally compliant, and includes appropriate accommodations, services, and goals.
Communication and Collaboration: We can facilitate communication between the family, school, and the IEP team. We will help parents understand their rights and responsibilities in the IEP process and ensure that the IEP team works together effectively.
Advocacy at IEP Meetings: We may attend IEP meetings with the family to provide support and advocacy. We can help parents express concerns, ask relevant questions, and negotiate for the best outcomes for the student
Would you like to feel more empowered and knowledgeable about your student’s education?
We offer IEP & 504 advocacy and consultation by providing these key aspects:
Conflict Resolution: Assist in resolving disputes or disagreements between parents and the school district. We may offer strategies for mediating conflicts and, if necessary, guide families through the due process procedures.
Specialized Knowledge: We are well-versed in special education laws, regulations, and best practices. We can provide families with information and guidance on how to navigate the complex landscape of special education.
Ongoing Monitoring and Support: Advocacy and consulting services often continue throughout the school year. We will monitor the student's progress, review and adjust the IEP as needed, and provide ongoing guidance and support to the family.
Empowering Families: A key aspect of advocacy and consulting services is empowering families to become informed and effective advocates for their child's education. This includes educating parents on their rights and responsibilities in the IEP process.
